PROFILE:

The Anglesea & District Community House Occasional Childcare Centre is run for the parents and children of Anglesea, Aireys Inlet and surrounding attending appointments, doing courses or needing respite.

The Centre accommodation consists of a childcare room, kitchen, toilets and outdoor playground. The outdoor area is well equipped and provides a shaded area. All play areas are in full view of staff: ensuring ease of supervision.

The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of each child. It is stimulating to ensure continuing social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Although children attend on an occasional basis only, written records are kept of individual development and parents receive regular verbal reports regarding their children.

The centre has 15 available places, which includes a maximum number of 5 places for children under the age of three. All children up to the age of six are welcome; however the centre is not designed for very young children who require a separate sleeping room.

COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT & VOLUNTEERS:

A volunteer Committee of Management manages the Community House and Occasional Childcare Program. Parents are encouraged to contribute to the Childcare Program either though volunteering an hour or two in the child care room (occasionally), by participating in our working bees or by nominating to be part of the Committee. Please see the Childcare Team Leader (Kel) for more information about how you can become involved.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
